I really think the only reason they made this the first episode was so that Frank could mention that his dad, who on the show, never hardly ever solves a case, was in the New York Police Department fo over 20 years. The Mystery of the Haunted House - this is about my #3 episode on the disk.
Here are the Seven Hardy Boy Episodes on the discs, and as far as I can see, there's no commentary or extras at all. However, imperfections or no, it is still a great show to watch for Hardy fans, and I highly recommend. I'd like to go through the episodes for you, at least the Hardy Boys ones, as those are the ones I've seen the most of. Heck, It might just be my player because I noticed it on Remington Steele too. Also, there is a little bit of back ground noise in a few of episodes. There are a few frames that are a little blurry, but then go right back to virtually perfect again on the next scene. I wanted to let those who are interested, know that the DVDs aren't perfect. I honestly would bet money on this and that they’ve planned this whole time for the show to include the Hardy Boys just like how we’ve got the Bobbsey Twins and Tom Swift as well.Season one of one of my favorite crime fighting duos, is finally on DVD. Do know too the “Nancy Drew” video games also have the Hardy Boys and I’ve seen other posts on here showing that Ace has even worn similar clothes to Joe in the games. Alex also has the same hair as Shaun Cassidy (left in the first pic) and Kennedy even looks like Pamela Sue Martin, though Parker Stevenson’ version of Frank looks more like Alex too but really book Frank has dark hair and dark eyes but the 70s show always wanted them to look more alike.
I felt like watching Hulu’s show that Alexander as Joe looks like he could play Ace in flashbacks (and they have the same first name) and now I see Rohan and Ryan looking alike too. There was a Hardy Boys series of shorts in the 50s too that was part of the “Mickey Mouse Club” but they were both little boys, so I only went with the other 2 most popular versions. Tamura (Frank) as they really do look like the other actors who have played the boys in both the 70s TV show they shared with Nancy, and Hulu’s show that’s set in the 80s.
Just wanted to do a comparison post for the possible Hardy Boys on “Nancy Drew” with Ace (Joe) and Det.
